Showing a sudden rise in growth since the opening of the millennium era, our domestic art market shows a noticeable polarized phenomenon: too much concentration with only particular artists and genres. During a period in which the goal of reaching both the domestic and international market, which has had a continuous boom since the 1960s central to the United States, Great Britain, and Asia’s newly emerging market China, overlaps with the current economic hardships our country is enduring, I’ve been appointed and thus carry a tremendous responsibility. Currently, Korea Galleries of Association owes one’s current stabilized status to the continuous endeavors of previous presidents. Yet, now it is necessary to establish a new status parallel to the change of time.
Galleries Association of Korea is reaching towards development of the world of art and globalized business through Korea Galleries Art Fair, Korea Domestic Art Fair, art appraisal, domestic art competitions participation sponsor business, exclusive art zone realization..etc. Such crucial events, when viewed socially or artistically in regards to its ideal progress, hold an overall important stance.
Internally, I will strive for unity amongst members of Galleries Association of Korea and through actions of an efficacious and creative enterprise, I will create an international status appropriate to the global age for our galleries association. Externally, I promise to run a Galleries Association of Korea that not only takes part in fine art but also in art in general and social culture and with this being said I sincerely ask for a plethora of interest and cooperation.
